2007 Support Goals and Projects

Create Additional Endowed Scholarship Corpus Accounts ($15,000)
As of January 1, 2007, the Director's Choice Foundation For Music Education is hosting nine separate endowed scholarship funds. Each of these funds is being increased on an annual basis in an effort to achieve a self-sustaining balance for indefinite scholarship awards. By January 1, 2008, the foundation intends to host twenty-five separate endowed scholarships

Award Additional Scholarships from Endowments ($15,000)
The Director's Choice Foundation For Music Education will award over $10,000 in music scholarships in the spring of 2007. In May of 2008, the foundation intends to award over $25,000 in music education scholarships to future band, choir, and orchestra directors.

Develop Music Education Specialist Program
Recruit and organize music educators interested in supporting foundation efforts. Educators shall assist with the development of the music education resource library and be available at selected music conferences. The foundation expects to involve twenty or more active and retired music educators at the Texas summer music conferences in San Antonio in July of 2007.

Establish a Music Education Resource Library
Develop and support an ongoing collection of documents and resources for active band, choir, and orchestra directors. These documents will be made available on the website and at various trade show presentations. Prior to the beginning of the 2007-08 academic year, the foundation expects to have 25+ articles, position papers, and ‘how-to’ documents available for music teachers on the website.

Increase Involvement Through Corporate and Individual Memberships
Recruit and retain additional involvement from businesses and individuals interested in supporting the future of music education. The foundation expects to recruit 50 individual memberships, 20 corporate memberships, and 12+ members of the board of trustees by January 1, 2008.
